Biography

One-act ballet.

Composer - Pyotr Tchaikovsky, arrangement by Mikhail Pletnev. Libretto - Bulat Ayukhanov, based on the novel in verse by Alexander Pushkin "Eugene Onegin". Choreography and staging - Bulat Ayukhanov.

The premiere took place in 1978. The ballet was staged for the SECD of the KazSSR under the direction of Bulat Ayukhanov.

Characters and performers: Tatiana - Carolina Dukart; Onegin - Gennady Sitakov; Lensky - Sergei Tikhonov; Olga - Galina Mikhaleva.

The ballet is designed as Tatiana's memories with several key scenes: Tatiana's dialogue with Onegin, who painfully wounded the heart of a lover; quarrel between Lensky and Onegin; farewell adagio of Lensky with Olga; duel between Lensky and Onegin. The ballet ends with Onegin's last meeting with Tatyana.

New edition. The premiere took place on March 29, 2018 on the stage of the N. Sats Youth Theatre under the new title “Eugene Onegin. The last ball”.

The new reading presents the classic plot of the novel with a non-classical ending. Tatyana, unable to withstand the pains of love, accepts Onegin, who has returned from Europe. Thus, Onegin and Tatiana find each other.
