TAZHIYEVA Rakul Tazhievna
Biography
(01.05.1926, Alma-Ata - 08.10.2000, Almaty) - ballet dancer. Honored Artist of the KazSSR (1958), was awarded the Red Banner of Labor Order (1959).
Graduate of the Kazakh Choreographic School (1944), teachers: A.A. Aleksandrov, Z.K. Pluzhnikova, T.N. Freshkop, A.V. Seleznev.
She is one of the first Kazakhstani professional ballerinas. At the Abay Opera and Ballet Theatre she performed the leading roles: Giselle (“Giselle”), Maria ("The Fountain of Bakhchisarai"), Tai-Choa ("The Red Poppy"), Swanhilda ("Coppelia"), Esmeralda ("Esmeralda"); Nazim (“Kambar and Nazim”), Kuralai and Altynai (“Dzungarian Gate”), solo dances in Kazakh operas: “Kyz Zhibek”, “Abai”, “Birzhan and Sara”. At the decade of Kazakh art and literature in Moscow (1958) she performed the main roles in the ballets "On the Way of Friendship" and "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai".
