ZAKLINSKY Konstantin Evgenievich
Biography
(08.05.1955, Leningrad) -principal dancer, teacher. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1983); Laureate of International ballet competitions in Moscow (1981) and Tokyo (1984); Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1983); Holder of the Dostyk Order II degree (2018).
1974 - graduated from the A.Ya. Vaganova Leningrad Choreographic School, class of A. Kumysnikov. After graduation, he was enrolled in the troupe of the S. M. Kirov Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet (Mariinsky), where he performed the leading roles: Siegfried ("Swan Lake"), Prince Desire, Blue Bird ("Sleeping Beauty"), Albert ("Giselle"), Solor ("La Bayadère"), Spartacus ("Spartacus"), Phoebus ("Notre Dame de Paris"), etc. He worked and danced in productions of the outstanding world ballet choreographers: K. Sergeyev, R. Jacobson, R. Petit, J. Robinson, M. Bejart. He toured a lot in foreign countries. For the first time he presented Balanchine’s ballets performed by the artists of the Russian ballet school in the USA.
He acted in a number of ballet films: "Tristan and Isolde" (1976). "Galatea" (1977), "Giselle" (1983), "Swan Lake" (1986), "Fouette" (1986), "Le Corsaire" (1987), "Chapliniana" (1987).
After finishing his artistic career, he began teaching. He taught duet-classical dance at the A.Ya. Vaganova ARB, choreographer-tutor of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Since 2015 he has been a teacher-tutor at the “Astana Opera” SOBT. He took part in productions of the ballets “La Bayadère”, “Don Quixote” by L. Minkus, “Le Corsaire” and “Giselle” by A. Adam, “Swan Lake” by P. Tchaikovsky in a new edition as assistant ballet master-director.
